Remind me of those long nights in the golden state, when I looked at her and my heart thawed. She grinned, and I faltered. My world, wrapped perfectly in one girl. The festival lights dimmed in the distance as she ran into the darkness of night, laughing.

Youth. Spirited by a suburban boulevard that has long existed in the labyrinth of my mind. Orange streetlights painted against an inky night; that street was my shelter. Yet as the months blur, I feel my body has stripped me of the love I used to have for that memory.

Time. I need you more than I ever have.

And now all I can do is count all the roads that lead me back to you, California.
