I’ve almost forgotten
how a world so glittered in golden memories and reveries
can lose its soul in the wake of an aching winter.

Yet the vernal air warns of its renewal,
and with that cloud of breath
I can almost taste the April rain
and so I hold onto its aged hands,
those familiar tales.
